Firebellied Newt in with Betta Fish?

Hello!

If I were to put a newt or salamander in with a betta fish, how do you think they would act? I would obviously purchase a much larger tank to accommodate both the needs of the newt and fish, but do you think the betta fish would act aggressively towards the newt? Firebellied newts only grow to be about 3.5-5 inches in length, including the tail, so their mouth would not be large enough to eat the fish. There would be some patches of land, but mostly just water in the aquarium. I am not necessarily going to do this, I am just curious as to how each animal would act in such a situation. Thank you

Lauren

Fire bellied newts excrate toxins and even though they have a small mouth they may attempt to eat the betta still.
