Remember that with brackish fish you add marine salt, not regular aquarium salt. I'm sure you know that but you'd be surprised how many people overlook it .

Good luck with the fishies! By the way, there is a product called Bio-Spira which actually contains live bacteria. It's the only product that can cycle new aquariums overnight . Bio-Spira

Anyways, I know my petstore sells live blackworms, bloodworms, and other gross worms . So call your local stores or look online. You might be able to get the catfish to eat frozen foods, too, just keep trying.

they say that rarely they will if it circulating in water but they havent touched it and so i trying to hatch these brime eggs...im taking your advice and just keeping the fish in my 30gal...i usually use Cycle, but im definately willing to try bio-spira...so far i have just added the water into the tank...i wanted to see if there were any leaks and if the built "table/in wall thing" lol..i dont know what else to call it, will hold...so far so good

my plan is to get my gravel tom along with plants...then i will set up my filter and lights....and wait...and hopefully let it cycle

thanks for the advice..i looked into guppies but all i could find were little babies and i know that they wouldnt work in that tank..but i cant wait to see how it will turn out

Bio-Spira is great. You add it directly to the filter media or bio-wheel at the same time you add fish. There is no need to add fish food or anything...it works better in new tanks with fresh water. Cycle doesn't do much, actually, and sometimes the batch you get is dead since they don't refridgerate.

Pictures, pictures...we want pictures, lol. I couldn't wait until the weekend and went to the pet store and picked up 3 female Bettas. I don't think patience is my strong suit some days. lol

Wow looks really nice!! What beautiful fish--I love gouramis!! I just havn't been brave enough to try them.

If you are having trouble with your fish eating the bloodworms, we take a coffee cup and dip it into the aquarium and then thaw the worms in that water and then dump them in. All the fish come swimming when they see that cup now cause they know it is chow time!!

thanks guys...gouramis are really nice, and when i was getting mollies and guppies as well they told me not to..saying the gouramis would be too aggressive, but they honestly dont bother the fish, and so far the guppies are actually doing well no casualties so im very excited...im monitoring ammonia levels and they are still fine, i m tempted to do a 10% water change to get the bottom gravel cleaned of fish poop...

i dont think i have ever seen the plecos this happy, they havent even pulled up the plants like they would have done by now in the old 30gal tank
