fishie chatter

so i was researching some different fish today, mostly looking for different types of fish that could live happily with guppys.. were prolly gonna either just get guppies or just get goldfish.. but looking at and trying to learn about different fish is kinda fun.. even tho i forget most of it when were actually in the store looking at fish

anyway i was looking around on www.aquariacentral.com i found a Blue-Eye Cichlid.. oh how pretty..
Blue-Eye Cichlid.jpg

anyway, it says there peaceful, does that mean they would be ok with guppies? it says they get to 4.5" which is prolly kinda big for a 29gal? the site says they would be ok in a 25 gal, but that seems too small to me, especially for a pair? i think having 1-2 larger fish, i could keep guppies with would be kinda cool, in hopes that the guppies do not become snacks that is.. anyway, i'd love some suggestions..
(also, anyone know any other good sites for information on different fish?)

I don't know anything about that species of cichlid in particular, but because they get larger then guppies,I personally wouldn't risk keeping them with guppies,as the tiny little guppies will most likely become a snack!

I agree that the guppies would be eaten. Actually, guppies are often used as feeders for many cichlids!
