Ghost Shrimp; Worms or over-paranoid fish mama?

Hi everyone!
I bought some new ghost shrimp yesterday and I'm noticing some of them have white "string" looking stuff inside their bodies. They themselves are perfectly clear, but some of them have this... what looks like white coiled up string.
I can take some pictures if you'd like to see. Not all of them have it.. just a couple.
Could it be worms, or am I just seeing some strange food they ate while they were still at the store?

Okay I took some pictures:

That's the same shrimp twice. From what I can see only two out of 20 of my new shrimp have "white string" inside them. I'll see if I can take better pictures tomorrow when the sun is out.

Looks like a horsehair worm which is a kind of parasite common in ghost shrimp. I don't know a lot offhand but it's usually fatal to the shrimp. The good news is that they seem harmless to fish (but you'll want to isolate the affected shrimp anyway to prevent them from infecting the rest of the shrimp).

They look so cool. I always found see-thru sea creatures so fascinating.
