Gourami Species

I would like to know more about some gourami species.I am thinking of setting a couple tanks up for gouramis.

I have a 29 gallon with 2 gold gouramis and 1 blue gourami. Can I add anymore gouramis to it? Also are there any smaller species that I could put in a 10 gallon? I am thinking of setting up my spare 10 gallon.

Advice?

I'm not a fan of keeping a lot of gouramis in the same tank but maybe someone else has more experience doing so. Try to stick to females.

A Paradise or Pygmy/Honey Dwarf Gourami would do really well in a 10-gallon .

Oh...okay.How do you sex them?
I have no idea what sexes my fish are,but there is no fighting or anything.

I always thought gouramis were peaceful fish anyway! They always seem peceful.

It's really just the males that tend to fight. And they are peaceful fish, just not always with each other. Kind of like bettas.

I found this link on sexing Gouramis which might be helpful .

croaking gouramis are fine to keep in groups as are moonlight..sparkling gouramis are also fine...they males my flare a bit...but wont physically attack, and female gouramis..the blue and gold you first mentioned will fight each other..and those you can sex by the shape of their dorsal fins
