im so sad

I came home from calss this afternoon and found a fish in my sons tank had died. He loves his fish. one of the fish you can clearly see the ich! How did I miss it?! I out some treatment in the water. Does anyone know how long it takes until the ich is completely gone? How long should I do the treatment? I also have 2 other fish tanks in the house, can I move the two fish that are healthy into the healthy tank until it clears up? Can I add a new fish after it clears? Can ich move from one tank to another? Sorry I have so many questions.

I wouldn't move the other fish as there is every chance that they too could develop the disease and pass it on. You have done the right thing in dosing the tank. I would keep an eye on it now, follow the instructions on the medication packet and if nothing more develops maybe after a month or so you could add new fish.

Sorry to hear about the ich

Do not move the fish to other tanks that have fish in them, it will spread.
There are good meds out there to clear ich. They range from 2-4 days to clear the Ich from the fish. I strongly recommend that you test your waters PH and Ammonia levels to find out WHY they broke out in Ich to begin with.
