yes, it does depend on the temperment of the other tank inhabitants also. My other fishies never even tried to bully my betta. They were not the problem. It was my betta all the way that was the little terror...LOL!

But like she said it is possible so give it a try. Just keep an eye for the first days when if you include a male betta into a community tank of other fish. Most betta are peaceful and get along wonderfully and mind their own business in the tank. But once in a while you end up with a mini Jaws!

Male and female bettas only come together for breeding and if left together one will most likely end up dead.
