Maingano tank

Setup 17th Oct 09

The piece of wood is finally settling down with releasing tannins. Only slight tinge now, so shouldn't be long before it stops altogether.

I've finally got around to putting a black background on the tank, i think it looks far better.

Let me know what you think

Dog~ Nika (f)
Cats~Scamp (m) & Simvar (m)
Fish~Tropicals & Goldies

Wow looks great. you make me wna to set up my 55, My twenty hex is set up very cheaply with goldies, yuck.
your set up is beutiful. To help with the tannens try a little mor carbon in you filters. Iv'e read that works.

Thank you both

I don't use carbon in any of my filters, i requires changing often to get is full potential, and i only water change every 6-8 weeks (i do all maintenance at same time), so not really worth it for me, though yes, carbon will remove tannins. The next water change should have it clear, very very little tannins now.
