Male Beta

I have 2 male Betas (in separate bowls), that my son (he's 2) thinks is fun to try and fish for. We are trying to get him to stop but when your not looking he sneeks over... I'm just worried that he might catch one and if it gets into his mouth, are they poisonous?

On the times that you can't watch him place the fish bowls up higher and out of his reach. I don't think they are poisonous but I don't imagine they would be all that great either.

It's definitely not worth the risk to wait and find out. Put them out of his reach immediately for the safety of your child and the fishies. While I'm pretty sure they aren't poisonous, I would be willing to bet that there is a lot of bacteria involved that your two year old's immune system would not cope with well. Please put them in a safe place right away.

Sadly there is no real place that is out of his reach, he's a climber. I have them hanging on the wall. He leave my tank alone that is loaded with way more colorful fish...

Get more secure lids, that's not good for him or the fish. They're not poisonous but I wouldn't want a kid getting aquarium water in his mouth.
