Unhappy Missing Fish!

Okay for awhile I haven't seen one of my dojo loaches, but I just assumed he was hiding (there is no openings for him to jump out of the tank).

Well I did complete tank cleanings last night and I am missing TWO fish. One of my dojo loaches AND one of my black khulis.Like I said there is no way they could get out and I checked the filter and the gravel (just in case they buried themselves). They just vanished!! The dojo was in a tank with goldfish and the khuli was in a 5 gallon betta tank - one betta and two khulis.

They vanished!!! Unless they died and were eaten by tankmates. But these guys were not even in the same tank!

The only thing I can think of is that if you have an undergravel filter, maybe they got under it somehow. Very strange, indeed. <-SB->

Did you look carefully in all of your decorations? I've heard of them squeezing through tiny openings in rocks and driftwood.

I actually know one person who thought their loach had died since they never saw it. A while later they did a 100% water change and took out all of the decorations. After cleaning the tank they noticed something coming out of the driftwood...it was the loach . He's fine, luckily.

I had that happen with a goldfish. I did a thorough tank cleaning. I scrubbed and bleached my castle that was in there. I rinsed it well. Or so I thought.
I found him with the next tank cleaning - he was still in the castle! It was really, really gross. And he funked up the tank that is why I had to do another tank cleaning so soon.
