my fish are fading

something is wrong with my tank, my tetra's once bright red and black are now light pink and grey and my once bright red guppy was light pink then died and my once dark red and dark black platy is now dark red and almost see-threw grey


What is goin on?!

First step to solving this is to have your water tested and do a water change. You want to make sure that it's not your water parameters.

i may have been starving my fish?

I fed them and now they are the normal bright colors??? Am i not feeding them enough? i feed them a pinch of color enhance flakes and freeze dried blood worms and a few betta pellets and part of a algea waver 2 times a day

I checked my water the other day and it was good it always tests about the same and its always good

How long were the colors faded? When fish are sleeping, they tend to look very pale and will still look this way when they first wake up. So that could have been what happened.

That amount of food sounds fine .

i don't know i have noticed the last few days but i don't look at them much they are in my bedroom and i feed them when i get up and leave then i see them during the day some and then feed them at night before bed

the temp is around 80 give or take 2 depending on weather

I think the fish was just old or something all my others are doing well, even the one with the lump on his side. My betta is now making big bubble nests and my cory cats are growing and everyone is active, i have been looking at them more threw the day and they look more colorful than at night when i fed them before turning out the light
