My Peacock Eel

Meet my new peacock eel..Slimy!

He is zippity fast!!

I like his tail! You can see the "peacock" spots on his tail is where he gets his name from.

He is very active and it was hard for me to get a good pic of his cute little face.

Note- I found out that they are called peacock "eel" but arent really "eels". They are just a long fish that looks very much like an eel. Poor thing, he isnt a peacock or an eel..they gave him a very goofy name!

they recommend a tank at least 55 gallons big for these fish. Mine is 60. I dont have a lot of fish in that tank either. They will eat small fish like tetras and guppies so they should go with bigger fish such as gouramis and fast barbs. Clown Loaches are ok too.
I already use aquarium salt (not table) in my tank. Its good for tropical fish too. They are escape artist so you will need to have a complete cover with no openings

Katie-He is with 2 gouramis(opaline male, gold female), 2 tiger barbs & 2 clown loaches. Speaking of my clown loaches..they are so funny! They think they are tiger barbs! hehe..you should see them swimming with the tiger barbs all the time! Its kinda cute.

Cute! They hide a lot don't they? I remember seeing them at a fish store once, they were hiding in the gravel.

I am so jealous of everyone's tanks.

I wish I could put my 55 gallon back up. I just don't have any room for it right now.
