need heavy duty filter

I need a heavy duty filter for my turtle's tank. He is in a 75 gallon tank. Right now I have a canister filter - but it is so difficult to clean. Getting the tubes on and off makes me want to cry or throw the filter out the window or both.
I would love a canister filter with an easy on/off system - any suggestions?

i just bought a Fluval 405 filter and i only had to clean it once!!!!!!! there's this huge cannister thing that sits on the floor and an intake and outtake tube for the inside with one flip of this dew-hickey on the cannister a vacuum shuts off intake and outtake flow and holds it there so you can take the whole cannister and clean it! and i keep 2 turtles in the tank!! i find it amazing b/c there's also 5 ways to clean the water as its filtered through so its always crystal clear and clean!

When you clean it do you have to take the hoses off to clean the top? That is what I am looking for one that you don't have to disconnect the hoses. I HATE that part.
Mine is working but it keeps blowing out air. It is not leaking if it's on but as soon as I unplug it the drips start! Of course that is right where the hoses connect. UGH!!

I have a Fluval 405, and its brilliant. So quick and easy to clean.

You take the hoses off to get to the cannister part, so you can take it to the sink to wash. But disconnecting the hoses is easy as. And i love that the hoses hold vacuum, so when you connect them up, the cannister prettywell self primes. Just a few pumps and its off. About 15 minutes from the time its disconnected and to when its reconnected.

My current filter is a cascade. It has valves that shut off the water flow so when you take off the hoses to clean the canister there is no dripping. The problem I have is screwing back on the hoses. They never want to go back on! It's infuriating. That is what I want to avoid - screwing the hoses on and off when I clean the filter.
Oh and right now it is sucking air and making a ton of noise. Jay think's it's because I didn't clean the hoses when I started it back up for the winter. I think that the air is from something else like the stupid hoses!
