Thank you

The 5ft arrives next weekend...Woohooooo. I ended up with a slightly larger 5ft tank, it holds around 425litres/112gal. This one only cost me $20 more than the one i had ordered, gotta love a bargain. The original was 18" wide and the one i am now getting is 2ft wide. Gives me a bit more room for aquascaping.

Most of the fish from the 4ft have been moved out (into my 2ft tank), still got a couple to catch, quick little beggers they are *L*

I've got a new piece of driftwood soaking (1.2metres long) to try to get as much tannins out as possible before it goes into the new tank.

Friday night, i'll prepare the gravel and aquasoil

I'll be up very early Saturday morning removing plants from the 4ft and storing them in a plastic bin, along with the filter. The Val and elodea will probably be trashed and new plants bought. The pieces of wood with plants attached will have to go into my new pond, if i cant pull the plants off that is, until the changeover is done. I'm hoping they will come off easily as the wood really needs scrubbing to remove some black beard algae. Hope to catch any remaining fish (including fry) during this removal stage. Its gonna be a BIG job.

My purse just wont stretch to buying enough plants to fill it up straight away *L*, so it will be a slow process to get it where i finally want it.

Eventually down the track, i'm hoping to get a cannister filter and T5 lighting for it, but for those i'll need to save for a bit *L*

Pics will come as it progresses

The 5ft arrived today....going to put the background on, just had to send my son to get some electrical tape *L*...so having a forced break, can't put the tank on the stand beforehand, because the tank is in an alcove and you cant get to the back once its in there.

Once the background is on, and the tank in place, i'll start washing the substrate (oh joy *LOL*)

I'll take pics at various stages during the setup.

I took a pic of the 4ft as it is now.

Looks very empty and sad *L* The poor plants are floating in a foam box. The fish are waiting happily in the 2ft tank, they went in there a week ago...They will go into the 5ft once it has settled a bit and the heaters have warmed it up

I am so NOT looking forward to bucketing water to fully fill it.

I bought a set of 2ft T5 lights, which are now in, and what a difference they make to the front of the tank...very pleased with them. Eventually i will get a 4ft set to replace the current light at the back. But i really want to get a cannister filter for it before that.

A few more weeks and i'll be ordering some Panda, Red tiger stripe & Bumblebee platys. They should set the tank off nicely. Then will come some more yoyo loaches to make up a school. Lastly will be some Oto cats & possible kuhli loaches

Newest pic, taken tonight

Gorgeous set-up! And nice lights! I love the T5 bulbs and they last so much longer.
