Our Aquarium

.. is home to:

1 polypterus senegalis (formerly thought to be a palmas, until we realised we were "ripped off" and sold as that, but it's not) His pet name is Gilbert... and he keeps eating all the fish!

2 x Clown Loaches - both have been prey and actually "eaten" by Gilbert when they were smaller, but the next day they re-appeared in the tank! (we know he ate them because we could "see" them in his "tummy")

1 x Bristle Nose Pleck

We've had numerous other fish that have either died or been eaten by dear old Gilbert.

My partner tried rearing crabs, but couldn't get the balance right and they all sadly died, so he gave up on that... we now only have room for one aquarium in this house, so he has to wait til we rent bigger again to try again lol

{Click to enlarge}

It's 72cm (from left to right as you look at it) x 30cm wide (front to back) x 40cm high (deep?)...

It's not really big enough for Gilbert, he was only a tiddler when we got him 2 years or more ago now, but at the moment we cannot afford a bigger aquarium, hence there only being himself, 2 clown loaches and a bristle nose plec (who is about 5cm long atm) in there.

Here are some piccies: (click to see full size images - dialup friendly lol)

The aquarium itself (Under gravel filtration system):

The clown loaches:

Gilbert again - These are blurred - but it gives you a rough idea of his size:

It's nigh on impossible to get a picture of the plec, he's always hiding under the driftwood

oh yeah, and bear in mind that ALL the pictures that I have taken are taken with my mobile phone camera, so not ALWAYS brilliant quality.
