Talking Pond!!!

I just took some new pictures of my 140 gallon pond and of my 20 gallon above ground tub pond.

First if the 140 gallon, preformed in-ground pond. It currently has 2 goldfish (there was 3 but one seems to have gone missing) and an unknown about of minnows. Plants are a Canna Pretoria, water hyacinth and water crest (the kind you buy at the grocery store, cheap plants are awesome).

Lots of algae but the fish don't seem to mind. I think I am going to DIY a pre-filter thing next year but for now its fine.

I changed the brick around the pond yesterday from this (ugly gray) to this nice reddish brick.

The root system on the canna is crazy and its tangled in with the roots of the water crest. Its awesome

And next is my 20 gallon tub pond. It has two minnows, one which has been in there for months and is just amazing (for a minnow) its huge and a really nice light peach colour and the odd times it comes to the surface it look like a little angel in the water. I added the other minnow a week or so. The fish in this pond feed off algae which grows on the sides and whatever else they can find with the occasional feeding of a pond fish pellet of tubiflex worms.

I cleaned the pump yesterday, or at least the sponge part (which I need to get a new sponge) and found this thing....

Usually I find things like earth worms but I found that thing... it has legs and we very must alive.
