how old is he?
i know its not as common in betas as in goldfish but maybe he has a swimbladder problem that is causing him to have trouble swimming upright.

We're going to need more details to help you. What kind of set-up is he in (tank size, filtration, temperature, decor, etc.)? How often do you do water changes and vacuum the gravel? What does he eat? How long have you had him?

And most importantly, have you had your water tested since noticing the problem? Most pet stores will do it for free if you bring in a water sample .
