Question Snail with Betta

Hello! Been reading a lot and have a quick question: what is an ideal non-fish mate for my Betta in a small tank (3gal)? I like the idea of a snail because of their "house-cleaning" abilities. Preferably a species that eats dead or rotting plant and animal matter instead of the healthy stuff.

Thanks!

snails are actually pretty messy especially apple snails (mystery snails) cory catfish are great cleaners however 3 gal is pretty small as they like small groups of at least 3 but they MAY work.

Common or pest snails are really cute and bettas do pretty well with them normally they come in on plants and you could get them free at a petstore but they do tend to multiply fast.

durr.. brain fart. Ghost shrimp normally do pretty well with bettas, plus clean, and can live in a small place i'm pretty sure. There may be other kinds of small shrimp too someone will let ya know!

I have had a mystery snail w/my betta... he recently passed and so i got 2 more just because they are great. no conflict or anything, they do however leave their poop which they dont eat. LOL. it's a toss up i guess.

Thanks for all the feedback. And to be honest, I never thought of having a shrimp with the Betta. Interesting.

Questions: How many shrimp to your recommend for a 3 gallon with a Betta and which species?

Thanks again.
