What is going on?

The tank that houses Little Guy and Greta has gotten very cloudy. I checked and everything is fine. The water is a bit hard but it always is.
The strange thing is that Little Guy who usually is laying around is a lot more active. I would clean the tank but he seems way happier than normal.
What is going on?

Cloudiness can be caused by tons of things but I'd say the most common are ammonia spikes (which isn't the case since you said the water parameters are normal) and bacteria blooms. The latter can happen for a number of reasons but one is feeding more then normal, performing a large water change, or getting a new filter. Feeding more then normal causes a bloom because there is more food for the bacteria. The last two reasons cause bacterial blooms because essentially you just killed off a bunch of bacteria and now they are coming back.

Cloudiness also can happen if you have sand or some other fine substrate. Goldfish will root around in it and it won't all settle.

Of course, sometimes bacterial or algal blooms can happen for other reasons. Even temperature can affect the bacteria populations and algae growth.

Is it a green-ish, yellow-ish, or grey-ish kind of cloudy? That will tell a lot about what's going on .

But either way it shouldn't be a big deal if your water parameters are normal and your fish seem fine. If the cloudiness bothers you it will probably be solved by some water changes.

I cannot think of anything new. I did a partial change a few weeks ago. I added stress zyme like normal. I have been feeding the same type of food for a while. I did give them peas for a few days but I have done that before.
Sasami - it a greyish cloudiness. I don't like the way it looks but Little Guy seems so much more active I am hesitant to change anything. And I did check the ammonia already and it was fine. I just am baffled. Especially since Little Guy is so much more active.
Maybe he likes the dirty tank?

How new was that bottle of stress zyme? Maybe you have a newer one and it caused a bit of a population explosion.

I don't think Little Guy being more active is related to the cloudiness but it's certainly possible . I doubt that the tank is actually dirty if your water tested out fine. Definitely monitor the water parameters for the next few days just to be sure, though.

Did you recently buy a new bottle of water conditioner, food, etc?

I am not sure when I got that bottle of stress zyme but that might be it. And I could have made a mistake counting when I was adding it. The stress coat I used last for them was an old bottle. Well old for us since we are always using it. The food has been the same for some time. It's newer but not that new.
I will keep an eye on the levels.
I am going to have to clean it soon though. The algae is growing on the sides of the glass.
