Question Worried about one of my barbs

Hey guys! I have ran into a bit of a problem. I have had my 55 gal tank for..oh my years! and have not had any problems in the past whenever I lived in Texas with all my fishies and such. Well I set up the tank here at my new location and the first couple of weeks were rough as always with a new tank! But soon got on track. I have quite a few red cherry barbs and whenever I turn on the tank light they all swim up to the top waiting for their food oh the little joys of life. Anywho, enough rambling. I noticed yesterday that one of my barbs has a large eye..it grew. The surrounding area is rather red..well then again he is too, but it worries me. It looks so painful! I researched a bit and read about pop eye but..I don't know. It can't be the water levels..I went to three different pet stores to get my water checked and checked it myself. All the other fish are perfectly fine and he doesn't act any different, but he sure looks different. What can I do? What ca it be? Thanks.
P.S. If you need pics I can post some later on tonight?
