He's very handsome . I have one that's pretty similar except he has alot of purple too. As for names I'm not sure...the one I was talking about is named Mr. Crowntail!

oops i just noticed i think i made a mistake...i think my betta is a crowntail and not a cardinal tail like i mentioned....

I think the tail cardinal fin has the tail more together. Unlike the crowntail whose tail has a more 'shredded' look to it....
what do you think...i think mine is actually a crown tail....??

Yours is a crowntail! I wasn't aware they had a "cardinal" tail.. they've got moon, veil, double, etc.. never heard of cardinal before though.

hah, funny story, petsmarts supplier calls crowntail bettas "CLOWNtail" bettas.

There's actually no such thing as a Cardinal Tail, I'm afraid. It's probably a term used to describe a different kind of betta. There are Veil Tails, Plakats, Crowntails, Halfmoons, Deltas, Super Deltas, Double Tails, etc. Yours is a crowntail .

Do you maybe mean the Cardinal Red coloring? It's a somewhat rare shade of red...they tend to be pretty expensive. But there isn't a tail type called "Cardinal".

~My Crowntail Betta~

No i dont mean the Cardinal red coloring...and yes i know mine is a crowntail...a beautiful, gorgeous crowntail..

but i do need to admit that you are right..there is no such fin type as cardinal'...she told me I must have been thinking of another kind of fish. She breeds various types of fish, tropical and salt. So, yeah, my boo boo...to bad i cant change the original title of the post. Oh well.
