RESCUE INFO
Roicy Duhon Animal Control welcomes legitimate 501(c)3 rescue groups. You must fax the shelter director, Virginia lee, proof of your 501(c)3 as well as your adoption standards and spay/neuter policy in advance. Follow-up documentation from a vet will be required to prove that the animals you have pulled have been spayed/neutered as well as received Rabies vaccinations. You must be at animal control in person to pull (or have someone pull under your name that can be there in person). Roicy-Duhon Animal Control and its volunteers will NOT transport or board any of the animals, so arrangements will need to be made PRIOR to pulling animals. The pull fee is $13 to cover the cost of the microchip. Cash only. The spaying/neutering can vary in cost, as can the rabies shots.

ADOPTION INFO
Adoption fees range from $51 to $66 (CASH payment only). This includes a certificate for a rabies shot, micro-chipping of the animal by the shelter, and spaying/neutering by a local veterinarian within Lafayette Parish.

HOW TO DONATE OR SPONSOR
You cannot donate or sponsor directly to Roicy as they are a parish-run shelter and the money will NOT go to the animals.

OTHER NOTES
Please do NOT bombard Roicy with phone calls as this can cause problems, and in the future, may close down the working relationship between Roicy and rescue groups (which means no animals would get pulled by rescues – they would either have to be claimed or adopted). You MUST fax all of your information prior to pulling these animals. Please also realize that although everyone would like to save every dog and cat at Roicy, you must be realistic and consider vet costs PRIOR to pulling. Vet costs will include spay/neuter, rabies shot, other vaccinations, HW testing, possible heartworm treatment and other possible illnesses such as kennel cough and dog flu.
