A Marine & his dog needs your help.

I have just joined the USMC, and my ship date for boot camp is Jan. 20th of 09. I have a loving dog named Panda that needs a good home. She is fixed, house trained, and is very healthy. She is very good around children, and quickly learns who her family is. I rescued her in 2005 as a 10 month old pup. Around a year later I lived with a woman with to children. Panda because very protective of the kids, and if we did not "introduce" the "stranger" to Panda she would put herself in between the "stranger" and kids and start to bark and jump. She has never bitten anyone, and I saw many times the kids tugging on Panda's hair.

She has lived with another female dog her whole life, and she likes to ruff house with other dogs. She WILL NOT (and I have tried) to ruff house with people, all she wants from people is to be loved on. She is very loving, but isn't needy. Please help her and a new Marine by letting this great dog become a member of your family.

I will be inserting pictures later today.

I have been thinking about your post. I really wish I could take her in but my house is beyond capacity.
However I just saw a wonderful story on msn. It is about a place where military personel can take their dogs to be cared for while they are gone. Here is the link
http://www.caninecorps.org/news.php You may need to cut and paste it.
This place is amazing! The dogs are all so happy. And they are well cared for free of charge until their owners return.
Good luck with your baby and thank you for all you do.

If I ever won the lottery and could do whatever I wanted that would be it. I feel so badly that our military men and women give up so much to keep us safe and they also have to give up their pets.
I would also love to have a house for military kitties and then one for military bunnies and other small animals.
Now all I need to do is to select the winning numbers....
