[username] I would love...

I am hoping to get either snake or gecko one day, my boyfriend really likes snakes and I am parcial to both. Love to hear stories!!

*BTW, I am using a code so everyone will see their user name in the topic so it is not directly at most, LOL, I just want it to include everyone

ive had a ball python, and a red tail boa as pets in the past. i LOVED my ball. he was very sweet, and believe it or not he loved the attention and pettings i would give him. he would spend most of his day inside my shirt next to my body for heat. me and him had a great time together. i would take him outside to explore (under my supervision of course) he has never bite me the whole three years i had him. getting rid of him was the toughest thing i ever done.
i used to have 8 green anoles too. Most of the time they were sick from the petstore and would die on me, so it seemed i was constantly getting new ones. i liked those little guys alot but you really cant play with them because the jump and are super fast. not to mention easily stressed out!
and i had a leopard gecko until recently. i gave him to a freind because she was wanting one, and i really didnt have room for the one i had, and i am not going to lie, i was bored of it. i still took great care of it, but i was glad to see him go to a home where he would get attention. He was a sweet lizard. he didnt mind being handled, and in my opinion was easy to care for. i would recommend a leopard gecko to anyone wanting a lizard.
now time for me to tell you about my fav! the nile monitors! i used to have three of these guys. and i dont recommend them to anyone. unless of course you are sure you know what you are getting into. these guys have very nasty temperments and really shouldnt be handled unless you do it daily from when they are a baby and you just teach yourself how to NOT get your arms ate off! LOL
these guys can get over seven foot, but usually stay around six feet. there cage was basically the size of the room i kept them in, with plexi glass around it to keep in the heat humidity and moisture.

i have had waterdragons too. sadly mine didnt live very long. but when i had them i really did like them.

my mother has 3 adult iguanas. they are usually well mannered. she lets them have run of the house most of the day. and if you dont like the idea of feeding rats or mice to something an iguana is something to think about if you have the space and patiance. but like i said, leopard geckos are deff. the best if you want something small that doesnt take up much space, easy to care for, and you can handle

well as a cold blooded myself i really loved my bearded dragon the most b/c he always would watch for me to walk by and wait for me to hold him. i also owned a lepord gecko which was pretty low key maintainence and not too interactive v.s the bearded dragon. i ALSO was the mother of a mated pair of Green Chinese Water Dragons and they were pretty cool and are handable afer they get used to you. umm...i also *currently* my tiger salamander adn he's sweet. i guess you can email me and i can tell you more [email protected]

Okay i will start.

Well, my dad hates snakes so i have nothing to do with them but look. My dad is not a big fan of my gecko but oh well...and when i Asked my mom why my dad does not like pets that much she said.
" You Think that now. But when we dated he was a vet/wanted to be one" so he love pets, so do i, so we had 1 just 1 cat and every time she had cats they all looked the same. 3 all the time. one was black one was Oreg 1 was gray. so we 3 got one and i fell in love with this one cat, when it came time to give her away I cryed all day and night, then the week came and everything, we got a dog.
i fell in love with her just like i do all of are pets, then she would pee and poop all over the house, we gave her to my ant, then without telling me, (after i fell in love with her) My ant gave her away. I still cry my Eyes out when i think of her. Then after that, my ants bro died, we got his dog, I loved her sooo Much then she got hart worms, and died that hard and slow way! so my ant works with a guy that gave us 2 dogs a mom and son, the mom was MEAN to us Kids and Him, so we told him he can have her back he said then he wanted then both, but Know way was he geting away with My baby boy. so we took the Dog to a Really good friend.
then I got a lot of gerbils, then a gecko not much of a story is it?
Then My mom had 4 more kids that mkaes 6 sibs...The END... Its about time.

back when i lived at home my brother ha a ball python, and a red tail boa, the pythons name was cloe and she was pretty sweet. she only ever bit him once, and that was when he first got her, some family came over to visit and he brought her out to show them and she got real nervous cuz she wasnt used to so many people, so she bit him, but it wasnt bad. the red tail boa, i think its name was butch, it was real mellow. and never bit anyone. altho.. it did manage to crawl under our house once and had to be dug out.. altho that was my brother fault for not watching it better when it was outside. they were both great pets and thinking back to them kinda makes me want a snake.. and believe me i used to hate snakes and lizards of all kinds. but i miss them.. im sorry to say they died. basically my brother got bored with them, and stoped taking care of them, he turned into a teen and found better things he wanted to spend his money on than mice to feed them. and by the time i found out it was too late. i hate him for that. espically considering the guy that gave them to him told him if he ever wanted to get rid of them he would take them back. they were like his babies.. bleh.. i hate my brother sometimes.. anyway, long story short, they both made pretty good pets. i personally would go for the python, cuz i thought the boa was kind of lazy and not as interesting.. altho i loved its coloring.. lol i cant believe i used to hate snakes now. i think i would like to have one.. but im not sure if i could feed it a mouse..

its not nearly as bad (for me) feeding an already dead frozen mouse. and its just not a good idea to feed live mice anyway

Well live rodents can fight back. Hurting the snake so BEST is thawed out dead ones.

I want a piggy too, there is one up at a plce here BUT it is Pets Unlimited, or as we call DEATH UNLIMITED. I really love piggys!!

Feeding live is not good or safe, as the rat or mouse can seriously injure the snake.Frozen/thawed is best.

I have a RES turtle and a leoprad gecko, hoping to get a 2nd leo soon.I am also hoping to get a crested gecko, fat tail, bearded dragon, corn snake, tarantula and a scorpion. Those are the next pets on my list.

The thing with reptiles is that they are not a cuddly pet.Say if you wanted a pet that will cuddle and hug you. Most reptiles are not like that at all. Some tolerate handling, but don't mean they like it.

Bear, my leo seems to like being handled sometimes. He likes my shoulder or the top of my head.As for my RES,he tolerates handling, but I don't think he likes it.Then again he is moody anyway!

Bear has always loved it on your head, first thing he did when you first held him (we were both wearing 'Santa' hats) and he went right ontop of your head.. LOL!!
