Talking Hatched geckos....

Jim Eugene Saffron Ubert Swoosh
Hatched on the 8th of September 2009
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dam: Bertha Sire: Lewis
Laid: 29th of July 2009
Days of Incubation: 73 days, 72-74 degrees
**Was aided in hatching
Introducing Jim Eugene Ubert Swoosh, also known as JESUS. If you are wondering, yes I did purposely choose the names so that the short form could be JESUS. All necessary information pertaining to liniage, incubation temperature and days of incubation are above. I will most likely not be selling JESUS, but if you are interested please do not hesitate to PM me.
************************************************** ******************************
I already posted these pictures in the "Eggs......." thread but I will post them again here since they are the only pictures that I have at the moment of little Jesus.
Only 1 1/2 hours only, weighed in at 1 gram
In a blue berry container, size comparison to a Canadian nickle
JESUS has improved since hatching what is believe prematurely, yesterday (September 9th 2009) he seemed to have slight mobility issues including staggered walking and jerking. Today he is running around, jumping and hiding, which is a great improvement. He also had his first taste of real food today- some yummy crested gecko diet. He only ate a tiny bit but it was more then you would think a little gecko of his size would eat.He is still going to need to figure out how he is supposed to eat without lunging at the feeding stick (wooden coffee stirrer). He is adorable when he eats.
He already has a little personality, crawls right on to my finger. He decided that my nice warm leg was the perfect place to have his first meal. A 'table' with a view- and a heated :). He then thought going up my shorts was a good idea but he soon decided that he would rather do some chin ups, and then go back to bed.
JESUS does attempt to bite sometimes, he is a feisty little fellow.
I will try and get new pictures later and a better size comparison then a nickle and my middle finger.
Thanks!!
Yeah Lewis and Bertha are a breeding pair of geckos. My parents got them for my birthday. I had a thread going about the eggs and how Bertha was gravid etc...
I still have 3 eggs in my closet in the incubator. 1 should hatch any time now.
Thats really cool that you can handle him at such a young age too, so he can get used to people. I think that was a huge problem with my guy, he was never really handled before I got him, I think at all. So I'm sure he's going to be a great addition to your little gecko family!
Thanks!
I try to keep handling to a minimum so as not to stress him out to much.
I did notice today while I was showing him to my uncle that he 'hits' himself in the head with his back leg.....
Yep 3 little eggs.
I can't tell yet since Jesus is still to small to see any pore and what not.
Jesus scared the crap out of me today when I went to feed and take pictures of him. He was on his back in the fetal position. I poked him once, no response, twice, still no response, third time he moved alittle.
I get him going again although he is moving very slowly. I cleaned off some shed with a wet q-tip but there is still a piece on his face that needs to be cleaned.
Please keep him in your thoughts.
