Just one of the geckos...

Hello, just wanted to post a picture of one of the geckos around the house. I find these little guys all the on my porch, so when I found one on the ground for the first time, I caught him. I've had this one for a little while and he is doing fine and seems to be taming fairly well. I'll let him go eventually... I have no idea how this picture will turn out, I'm really not that good with them. I know it's blurry, though, because I had to zoom in. By the way, sorry it's been a while since my last post. It's great to see you guys again.

Regards,
Gary

Edit: Yep, it's very hard to tell what that picture is. I'll try to get a better one when I get back from the rep show tomorrow.

That is cool that you have geckos who are native to your area.

You're right the pic isn't very good, but thank you for sharing.

Its a Mediterranean gecko, not native to the US, but they've hitchhiked their way here and have established themselves very well.

Thanks, Ravnos, for informing me. I have heard of that before. Wasn't there another gecko species that made its way to the southern U.S.? I'll still try to get a better picture.

Numerous non-native species in the genus Hemidactylus have established in the southern states. Tokay geckos are also found in Florida.
