Leopard Gecko Shedding Issues
I got my first leopard gecko two years ago and she has been healthy most of the time.
Last summer she got an infection in her eyes and mouth--and it took about a month to get her back to normal.
We had a few months of good health and regular behavior. However, I started to notice a shedding issue that started after the eye infection healed--every time she shed, her entire body would be ready to shed, but her head would be a day or two behind. She wouldn't eat for those days until her head was ready to shed as well and then would proceed. She would go back to good health and normal behavior after each shed.
She's come down with another eye infection that requires a lot of attention--the doctor said it was shed that got stuck in her eye and became infected. He removed it and gave us medicine for the eye.
What I'm wondering is if this infection will reoccur because of the shedding issue? Or is the shedding issue not a big deal?
Thank you for any assistance!
