Howdy I've introduced myself elsewhere, but I'll do it again here so that I can share pictures of Xander, my green iguana.
He's two-years old. During the past two years, we've learned a lot about iguana care and life has been getting steadily better for my little green kid. He's a bit small for his age because of an early MBD diagnosis back in June (accompanied by a broken femur). We had to reconsider ALL of our husbandry, and changed everything from his diet and substrate to his heating and lighting. Xander is now thriving, and was given an excellent bill of health by our vet in September. He has completely recovered from his MBD (yay!)
I also work with reptiles at the zoo where I volunteer. Birds are my first love, but reptiles are a close second I'm looking forward to being a member of this board.
LOL - everybody asks me that. "Where did you get that name?" I read it in a book once. When I brought the little cutie home, I took one look at him and decided he was a Xander. Not as romantic of a story as it should be, I'm afraid
