Activitys With Your Dogs?

Have any of you ever entered your dogs in contests of some sort? I want to enter my dogs' in a contest, I could train them obediance first in about 2 months, then I want to enter them in Dog contests, what kind of contests can you sign them up for? I know it will take months of training before I can enter them, but I want them to enjoy the contests, I would NEVER want them to be forced to do a contest they dont want to do, so could you tell me what contest your dogs most enjoy entering?
Thank You Very Much!

I think all dogs love agility courses they get to run through stuff and jump over stuff.

When I watch agility contests I like the one where they have to run up to a button tread on it and a ball shoots out they catch it and then run back and it is like a relay. That is fun for a dog.

No experience here. I think our last GSD, Bach, would've been excellent at it but we never did do it.

Agility is lots of fun and good exercise if you've got an active well trained dog, but you've got to be able to keep up with them ! Lots of links here... Dog Agility Page

Agility is fun for most dogs whether they are great at it or not. There is also a new one for smaller breeds that were trained for going down holes and flushing out game. It's some sort of tunneling thing I saw on TV but can't remember what it's called. The dogs had a blast though and no live game was used to flush out. Just scenting

The only activity I had my dogs in was taking Lacey to doggie school! She did quite well and I thought about agility. I'm glad now that I didn't persue it as she has arthitis in her hips and has had her knee ligaments operated on two times. I guess she would not have been a good canidate for agility.

I would love to get Ein involved in herding stuff for fun, and possibly the agility stuff. The agility thing would never work, though. He loves people and gets totally distracted when he sees someone knew. I haven't been able to find any herding stuff in my area, or I'd consider doing that.

Rocky does agilty for fun and really loves it. I tried both obedience and agility with Sophie but she wasn't into either of them. She'd rather sleep, lol.

lol, Nope not here. My dog is brain damaged from seizures because his previous owners didn't have him on anti seizure meds, so he wouldn't know what was going on if I ever took him to a class. My poor little doggie
