Unhappy Allergies---HELP!!!

I have a 1 yr old yorkie. I am allergic to most dogs but he doesn't bother me at all. I've been reading that yorkies are one of the breeds that are kinda hypo-allergenic. Anyway, assuming that I'd be okay around all yorkies we went and got an 8 wk old female last evening. Well she is bothering my allergies. What's up with that? My husband even noticed it and asked me if she was bothering me!!!! How can I be allergic to one yorkie and not the other?

Maybe since your new dog was from a breeder, she got exposed to other dander from other dogs and that is bothering you? Try giving her a bath to see if it would help, but be careful. You don't want to provoke your allergies so you become allergic to your older dog. Good luck!

Go to your Vet's office, they sell a lotion that you put on the dog's coat that removes the allergy dander. It works really well, and will help.

Plus puppies secrete a different dander then when they are full grown! It might be puppy dander getting to you and that when she is grown she will not give you as bad as a reaction!
