Breed Sterotypes

Where do all these breed stereotypes come from!?

We all know that the pitbull is one of the most misunderstood and stereotyped breeds around, but what about other breed stereotypes...such as greyhounds being hyper, high strung and quick to bite and other breed stereotypes...where do these come from?

I have no idea, they say that CockerSpaniels are the worst breed to have around kids, yet mine is the sillyest, sweet natured little girl I have ever seen...I think alls it takes is for one person to say something negative to enough people and it becomes a stereotype...but it is a good question...I would like to know also

I think it depends really... sure, some may come from ignorance, but some may come from people who have owned that breed and told someone, and that person told another and so on and so on... My Natalya fits some of the stereotype about the husky breed, and tatyana does a little too.. so i think it depends

Yep,I work with beagles and alot of them are adopted to homes with bunnies and small animals and there are no problems there. However chasing/hunting bunnies is NOT a stereotype,it is instinct. They are rabbit dogs by nature. Some just rather be with people then hunting. They are a very people oriented breed!Love being with people.

Yep,I know a few people who swear that if you have a siberian husky and it gets a taste of blood,it has to be put down or it will turn on it's owner... It is the most stupid thing I have ever heard.
