Devestating News...

I woke up this morning to find the two 5 week old pups I was fostering dead.I could not believe it,I was shocked and devestated! And so shocked that both of them died at the same time!I immediatly called Sheila (Beagle Paws) and she came by and picked them up and brought them in to see what happened.Turns out they were not developing right and didn't have teeth and were probably sick with some virus.I also checked Brandy's nipples and it appears her milk has dried or she stopped producing milk. And these past few days she was not being a good mother anyway...ignoring them and everything...so she must of knew something was wrong with them and stopped feeding them.Either way it was horrible to wake up to it...I totally feel responsible as I was fostering them...but I know there was probably nothing I could do.I have been feeling so bad all day.Brandy has not greived or been stressed or even looking for the pups...which is kind of weird.R.I.P little puppies...

Yours or not I' sure you did everything right in looking after them. Little ones can die so easily if they get sick or have defects. I remember loosing a couple of batches of kittens from cats because of birth defects. VERY depressing and devestating. I'm just glad they had you to look after them even if it was for a very short time.

Yours or not you gave them love and care. Little one are vulnerable. You did what you could with what you knew at the time. Its hard... its devestating but certainly their short lives were the best they could of been in the circumstances.

Rest in Peace, little puppies.

That is so sad... I'm sure there was nothing you could have done... At least the short time they were here was pleasant. Feel better soon!

Unhappy What a bad morning!

I'm so sorry you had to go through such saddness. I had a similar experience when I bred crockers. The mom didn't have anything to do with the runt so I took it under my wing. After the little one died, the vet told me her back was not formed right. I learned that the mom knows best.
