Well ours was a male, he was very good, but being a hound he got a bit dominant, we had him neutered and after that he calmed down a bit.. The thing is they are prone to being a bit overweight, so watch the treats etc.. They tend to be a bit lazy, he never ran after any sticks etc, prefering to lay down and give the sad look.. Ours spent most of the time asleep on my bed, which was ok, till it got cold and he took most of the duvet.. He really was my mums dog, but whoever fed him was his favourite! We often joked, that if we got burgled, he would just lay there and watch, maybe he would get up and give them a bark.. He was a lovely dog, but at the age of 12, we had him put to sleep.. His back legs went, and it just was not fair to let him continue in pain.. We did all we could for him, it was so sad, mentally he was as bright as a button, he just could not walk unaided.. I miss him so much, even though it has been 8 years since his passing..
