Dog to dog

My dog is a great dog when it comes to people but when it comes to other dogs she is a complete maniac! We cant even take her on walks cause if we encounter another dog it is horrible! Any advice on how to get her better with other dogs?

Have you tried an obidience class yet? Most are done in groups, but maybe you could do some one-on-one with her. That way he will know you are in charge. Then try to do one in a group (at Petsmart, for instance). If she acts up, you can have her sit, stay. Also, talking to a trainer there could help. And your vet!

My boyfriend's dog is like this also and we just gradually started letting his dog be near bosco until he was used to it and allowed him to come near whenever, but it has been very difficult to get him over it entorely....It could be a breed thing- some breeds are by nature much more protective than others.

with my grandmas dog we introduced her to other family members dogs one at a time, with her on a leash...we always used other calm well behaved dogs so that they didn't send off crazy vibes...we did the introductions slowly...first through a fence so they could smell and then in person...we didn't let either dog get to the excited phase, when one started to get to hyper we finished the introductions...then once we got all of that done and she started opening up to those dogs we started her into group obediance training and from there to doggy daycare 3 times a week...and now she is a happy well adjusted dog with many friends...and trust me thats huge as she used to want to fight with every dog she saw

Ya those are good ideas. She does have some aggressive breeds in her. She is Akita, German Shepard, and Sharpei. She is really strong so it is hard to introduce by leash because she will just pull out of your reach and if she gets too excited she could freak out. Im almost afraid she might attack another dog. =(
