Dog food

Curious to know...do you guys feed your dog table food at all? i've seen the way dogs respond to humans once they have been given "real" food. i prefer to eat my food in peace. What's the word?

My mum gives my dog some scraps from the table and she used to be very annoying. But she learnt that if we say wait it's wait and she'll stop begging tillwe finish and give her a few scraps.

I teach mine not to beg because I don't like it. If you feed "table scraps" a dog can still learn what is theirs and what is not. I've had a couple I'll give table scraps too but they are not allowed to beg.

I feed my dogs whole prey model diet. They love scarfing down all that meat! It is very healthy for them.

Kibbles and Kiwi get table scraps, but they don;t beg.

Kiwi sits on the couch and Kibbles lays under the table or behind my chair (which makes it difficult to get comfy if you have a sleeping dog behind you)

They only get scraps if they've been good, or theirs something that was made in mind that they were going to have some. And we always make sure its safe for them to eat.

I do not feed my Molly anything from the table. I was very upset when a friend of mine gave her a piece of chicken. I don't want her to become accustomed to having table food and begging.

i hang my head in shame because my Coco gets table scraps and he also begs. He is used to not getting any if you hold up your hand and say "all gone" but for the most part if it smells good to him he's sure to come around!!

One of the worst decisions I made with my dog was feeding him human food early on in his life. It led to a point where he would come next to the table and just watch me eat until I gave him food. I stopped doing it long ago, and since then he doesn't do it as much. But also I had noticed he wouldn't eat his own food as much either. So I tried shopping around for better foods that he liked, and as of now he LOVES Taste of the Wild. It's one of the few kibble foods that he actually gets excited for.

Not usually, especially not while were eating.. i sometimes toss tanner a noodle.. or a bit of cheese or something while im cooking, if hes laying down and not getting in the way. but he doesn't beg, usually he just lays under the table by my feet if were eating at the table, and if we eat in the living room he tries to lay behind me on the couch, But.. if im eating a cup of yogurt, he will conveniently be standing in the kitchen when i open it, so he gets to lick the lid, and when i goto throw it away he gets to lick the cup... ok so maybe hes a little spoiled

Scooby gets table scraps on occassion, he's definately not even permitted to look at someone eating, he gets into trouble. \

Nika is still in training with not touching food until allowed, and she begs big time, so until the lessons are learned she is not permitted where people are eating.
