I personally would not let my dogs play with gerbils as gerbils are delicate and bite.

hmm true but if they did bite then my dog would run off,
but i dont always let her near the gerbil because she tends to get to excited.

As kayla said if the gerbils were to bite, then more that likely your dog will snapp back at them in self defence. Please make sure your thinking this through properly because dogs are a WHOLE lot bigger, stronger and will cause damage if they feel threatened.

I guess it depends on the the dog... a lot of dogs (especially small terriers) have a high prey drive when it comes to small and furry animals so extreme caution must be used when they interact. IMO it is not worth the risk to either of them just to see them play together.

I dont see a problem with it as long as shes there to watch them, I dont see what the fuss is about, neither the dog or the pigger would do anything while their owner is around and if they did she would be there to stop them.
