Exclamation Help

i'm at my boyfriends, his brother just brought home two sick little puppies, the mom died monday, she was bleeding out of her mouth and backside, the owner had to shot her becuse she was suffering, and two other puppies died yesterday. The two we have their noses are dry, and not cold, and the gums are white, the wheite of their eyes are bluish. Their both not very active, one is not eating, neither of them have had their shots until today, we gave them a 7 in one sho. They were just wormed yesterday, and they have runny poop. There are no vets open until monday and if anyone has any suggestions of what we can do for them, please help.

I'll see if I can find anything for you. Whatever you do keep them away from your animals and wash up and change clothes in between the pups and your animals, it sounds like mom had something nasty!

For starters, keep them warm and try to give them water. How old are they? that makes a big difference

lylwhitetiger, how old are the puppies?? If there gums are white then they are lacking food and vitamins, by any chance do you have any baby liquid vitamins or axcess to any 2 small drops per pup and get them on some powderd milk replacer, are you keeping them real warm?? Sounds to me they went hungry and maybe needing lots fluids.. If they are older pups then they may have something else..

By the way if they are old enough to eat on there own then try this, some fried hambuger with the grease drained off, you dont want the grease and then some cooked white rice added to that with a small amount of dry dog food lightly soaked for few mins, mix all together that will help to slow down the runny poo and get there tract working better..

Ok first off the kitten food has no nutrition for them and will casue runny poo.. you need to get them on something for pups or for dogs atleast, then you also need to get them some vitamins asap!! I would also look into a milk replacer to give them for atleast 1 week, still keep them warm on a people heatting pad set on low coverd with a towel... Try to atleast give them the burger rice mix that will help some...

How awful! It sounds like the Mom at rat poison- maybe.

I hope the pups make it.

You can go to petsmart or any other pet store and get a puppy milk replacer and some early start puppy food...they also sell vitamins at pet stores for dogs and cats. This would be ideal to get because the white gums can mean lack of nutrition, anemia, and lack of oxygen to vital organs. Fleas shouldn't be a huge problem in the colder weather, but if they do have a bunch, it's best to bathe them in a flea/tick bath to kill them off, because in little puppies and kittens an excess of fleas can cause anemia (the white gums). Keep them really warm, and if you feed them any fluids or food, make sure that you warm it up a little first. It would also be a good idea to take their temperature. Normal for dogs is around 102. If they are very cold, around 92 degrees or less, they are heading towards hypothermia. Keep them as warm as possible!

Also, if there is a lot of blood in their stool, it could be indicative of Parvo. The symptoms you are listing are all characteristic of the disease. In that case, you need to be extremely careful if you have dogs of your own. Parvo is an airborne disease and can be harbored in the surrounding area for up to one year. The ONLY thing that kills it is bleach. You need to clean everything you've touched and your boyfriend needs to be careful if he has any animals as well.

I'm kind of confused as to how you took them to a vet to get them checked out earlier, and now they are so sick. It would be best to get them emergency care right away. There should be an emergency vet somewhere in your area that you can at least call, if not take them to.

If you notice anything else, please let us know. I hope they are okay.
