looking at possibly getting a do or two in the near future wanted some advise

Hello there, I am by no means a newbie to owning dogs....I own one of my own now (though she is probably more my mothers then mine) she is starting to get older and more feble in her old age I think she is about 13 or 14 now. She is in pretty good health her hearing is completly gone and I think her sight might be getting worse but other then that her health is pretty well.
But I know that she may or may not be around for much longer so I have been considering maybe getting another dog or possibly two in a year or two from now.
I know if I was to look at getting a dog or dogs, I would like to look at getting a Yorkie and a Corgi the most. These dogs are just wayy adorable and they tend to have really nice personalities as well. What I was wondering is has anyone ever owned either of these dogs and can you tell maybe some personal experiences with them or pros and cons.
I am thinking very seriously of at some point going by my public library and checking out some books on these specific breeds of dogs so I can educate myself properly before investing to heavily in getting one. (always of the opinion educating ones self on new pets is a good idea to take on).
But yes if you all have any tips that would truly be wonderful to hear thank you!

Find a breed rescue near you and they should be able to help you decide which breed is best for you.Plus you may just find the perfect dog for you at a rescue.

yeah I think will certainly look into Corgi and Yorkie rescues close to me to look into for when we feel ready to get a new dog or two.

DON'T GO until you are ready to bring a dog home, if you are like me you will fall for one and be heart broken to not be able to take it home yet.
