This may seem silly....

We howl with our dog. My 1 yr old daughter recently learned how to howl! We start the howling and Allison (our dog) follows along.
Question.....Why do dogs howl?

Wolves howl. Dogs are direc descendants of wolves. It's for communication and stuff like that.

I was hoping it would be something positive. I did not want to make her sad, or angry, or worried. Is it a positive thing to howl with your dog?

My dogs won't howl. I've tried showing them how, but no luck.
