Planning on getting a Vizsla

Hello, I am new to the dogs section of paw talk, although I have posted quite a few times in the Degu Discussion. After my mother recently passed away, my family decided that we would like a dog to help keep ourselves busy in this down time. My mom had always talked about the Vizsla and so we have chosen that as our dog, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with them or knew much about them in terms of behavioral issues?

your best bet is to research breed traits of the vizsla.
from my experience with these types of dogs they are very trainable. the ones I have met at the petstore I work at were very well behaved. The most important thing with these active dogs is that they get adequate excercize, otherwise they are prone to becoming problem dogs simply because they are bored. As long as you can provide them with that and use a firm hand in training, they should be very well behaved dogs.

I'm so sorry about your loss.

Sorry about your loss

I agree to look at all angles of the breed. It looks like it may have been a good dog for your mother but maybe not for you unless you know everything to expect. I expand my regards to you and yours.

Sorry for your loss. Glad you all consider what you mother wanted. I've me some Vizla and they are really sweet and highly-trainable. There's a lot of resource you should visit first to get enough knowledge about them.
