Please read, help if you can.

Diane Albers, President of Florida Association of Kennel
Clubs. She is spearheading the rescue efforts, along with AKC. These are her
comments:

"Florida is in deep ****. If Ivan hits Florida, there will be no Florida
left. The cattle and horses are standing 6 inches deep in water. There is no
pasture, no food. The shelters are overrun with dogs that didn't
evacuate with
their owners. She is getting hundreds of calls daily from people forced
to do
owner turn ins as they themselves have no homes, no food, no gas, no
water, no
way to care for their animals. "

Northwest Airlines are offering to fly dogs out of Florida at no cost
(donated by NWA...remember them the next time you fly). They
will start flying dogs tome within a couple of days. Foster homes are
needed. Florida needs our help. She is getting hundreds of purebreds turned
in
every day along with mixes.

Are we as "show people" so narrow minded that we only care about our breed?
Our friends? Or do we have the capacity to love all dogs and are we
willing to
help?

I would help if I could, but I live in a apartment in the city, that allows no pets, except service pets, and I already got my cat in that way. But I will ask around, see about putting a bullitin up at church.........

Oh, I would help if I could, but living international would make it a bit difficult for them to get a dog or cat to me.

It really sucks that I can't do anything.

Well, from what I have recently heard, this may be a hoax....atleast the "free shipping part" I haven't been able to conclude either way. The sad thing is the animals there DO need help. And people who would start something like this, if indeed false are incredibly low individuals....
