So some of you probably know from my other thread, Kitsu my papillon turned a year old on Dec.26th!
As kind of a little experiment, I have been keeping a detailed excel sheet on Kit's expenses since we first started spending money on him, before we even brought him home.
In total, over the past year of his life, we have spent $3,436.00 on him. That includes mostly supplies, food, and vet bills. We lucked out in that other than the time he had an allergic reaction to a bee sting, and the time he ate a glass light bulb, we've stayed out of the emergency vet. He's been very healthy and didn't need any major surgeries or medical treatments, which I'm sure would have really drove the cost up.
Just something to think about before you buy a puppy - they are expensive! Especially their first year, when they need more vet trips for things like puppy shots and neuters.
Of course Kit is worth every penny and has returned our investments 100 fold with the love and joy he brings us.
