Someone help clear this up!

Ok...first off, lemme explain that me and my boyfriend got into an argument over this...

He has been missing a silver bracelet for a couple days now.First he blamed our almost 2 yr old daughter Chloe, because she tends to put everything in her mouth. But after a day without her getting sick or pooping any chain out (sorry) he then blamed Brandy for eating it...however I don't.Wouldn't she of gotten sick or coughed up blood or pooped out blood??Thats what I have heard when dogs swallow things...I tried explaining that to him, but he don't believe me...he is set in his thought that Brandy ate his chain.

So my question is...if she did happen to of swallowed the bracelet, would anything happen??

She may pass it just fine, she may not. Linear objects (such as a bracelet, necklace, string, etc.) tend to cause more of a problem as far as intestinal damage. I'd watch her closely the next 48 hrs or so for any vomiting, diarrhea, not wanting to eat, or feeling poorly. If you notice any of that, see your vet right away.

Conversely, an x-ray would quickly diagnose whether there was a metal object there.

Thanks...it has been about 2 days now and Brandy hasn't been sick, has been going to the bathroom normally and still has a huge appetite...I really doubt she swallowed that.It is my boyfriend who thinks she did...

IF she ate it, it'll either make her sick (change her appetite, cause diarreah, or vomitting) or she'll poop it out.
Jade's right though, a quick x-ray will either confirm that she swallowed it, or prove she didn't.
