There goes the lawn!

Hey guys,
I have been absent from here for a while, its nice to be back. Anywho my 3 year old female lab Bailey had been away at my lakehouse with my grandparents for 6 weeks. During that time we had been working on my moms huge landscape plans. Part of this included us replanting many areas of the lawn. The lawn was looking great. However when she came back, and began urinating on the lawn, the grass that she urinated on (and the grass right by it) have turned the dormant color, im not sure if its dead, but it looks really bad. So now we have several spots on our lawn. I remember hearing that female dogs have a high acidity level in their urine and thats what kills the grass. I also heard that two of the ways to prevent the spots is to spray down the area urinated on with water right after she does her business (this sounds okay, but honestly I dont have time to spray down the grass every time she goes to the bathroom) and secondly feeding her tomato juice cubes, you know put tomate juice in an ice cube tray and freeze it. We tried that in the past, but we cant remember how it turned out. Do you guys have any suggestions on how we can prevent our lawn from being ruined by my dogs urine?

Thanks!
Mike
