Red face Update on Logan

I found another trainer for puppy classes. I didn't fancy the other trainer I picked out because she is very old school. I need someone that understands the needs of a high drive Pit Bull. This weekend we are going to work on loose leash walking, going through a tunnel to build confidence, sit and down commands, and working on eye contact. We are also going to do a massage/handling technique that includes putting socks and a teeshirt on the dog.

Still working on the housetraining. He escaped last week when Dave and I were at work so that set us back a bit but he is getting back on track. I had him sectioned off in the kitchen and he managed to bust through the gate!

He went to the vet for his second round of shots and he now weighs 22 pounds. The vet said, "He is a perfect specimen".

He knows how to sit, give his paw, and speak on command. We are working on the stay command.

He walks good on a harness.

He has made friends with the chinnies, especially Noel.

He has a high drive and his favourite thing to do is grab on to a tug toy, lift him in the air and hang there. A springpole is a MUST for this little guy.

And he makes me laugh so hard with his antics.

My friend is coming this Friday and she is going to be taking pictures of him (since I am so bad at taking them).

sounds great!!!! He seems to be the perfect addition to your home!!! You definently don't need an old school dog trainer
You'll have to tell us how he goes with the tunnel! biscuit was useless! she'd go in after the treat, get halfway through it, I'd be behind her (yes I had to crawl through it) and she'd still manage to turn around, get over me and come out the same end she went into...she had no concept that she could run straight through! It was hilarious!!! but at least she could jump through the tyre

Too lazy to even think of a siggy

I'm so glad Logan is doing so wonderfully. But then again, how else would he be since he has such a wonderful mommy.

First day of puppy class went great! There were 20 puppies there and Logan was overwhelmed! He has never seen so many dogs all at one time. We did an attention and focus exercise, a handling exercise, and the tunnel exercise. Logan went through the tunnel with no problem. Actually all the dogs that were in my group did really good. The trainer said Logan is a confident dog and he played with the other puppies nicely. And the woman that was helping us get acquainted with the class said she wanted to take him home.

It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to go again next Sunday!

wow sounds like Logan did great!!!! 20 puppies is a lot!!!! Can I ask how many trainers were there? Was it just one? In Aus it's pretty standard that there are no more than 6 puppies/dogs per class (cause it's the same with adults too) so 20 is just a huge amount!

You know, dogs are like little people. I never realized it as much until yesterday. He was so excited to see all the dogs. It was so sweet. There was a French Bulldog, named Hugo that I fell in love with. He was just grunting away!

Yes, I want to enroll him in an adult class in January. I am trying to teach him the down command and it is going to take awhile. I heard it isn't the easiest command to teach straight off the bat.
