Cool What to Name my Puppy

I will be getting a male puppy this fall and can't decide which name to choose for him. The two that I can think of right now is Orion and Riley. I am currently leaning towards one name, but it's not definite.

Which name do ya'll think I should go with?

What kind of puppy are you getting? Personally, I like Riley better as dog's name. You sort of want something that is easy to say quickly if you need to, lol.

I kinda lean towards Orion... just cuz of the constellation. But of course... there's really no short name for Orion. But with Riley, you can call him Rye for short.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

I love the name Orion because of the constellation, but there would be no nickname. Plus, when I mentioned this name to my little sister, she said that it made her think of this pop star named Omarion

I like them both, but I've always been a fan of the name Riley. Orion is great too though!

Hi, I noticed on another thread you got a female puppy. I was just wondering if you decided on a name yet? I read some where that puppies learn their names better when they end in a y sound. Like Riley for instance. Not to say that you can't name a puppy without the Y sound. Our German Shepherd is Coral and she has no problems with it. They also say to avoid names that sound like commands. Like Kit, Rum, Fay
they can sound like sit, down and stay.

Thanks! I actually ended up getting a female puppy instead (my original plan) and named her Belle, after Belle from one of my favorite Disney movies, Beauty and the Beast
