So you can't have ANY large dogs, even if they are gentle and vaccinated?! *hugs her Great Dane*

You're talking about a city in a country that has orphanages full of children desperately searching for homes because they only allow families to have one child. Does it really surprise you that they will now allow only one pet?

I'm not saying I agree. Just that I am not surprised. The article said only 3% of dogs are vaccinated against rabies. Seems to me it would make more sense to make rabies vaccinations required by law, then to say you can only have one dog. But, then again, it doesn't make sense to me that mothers have to put their child in an orphanage simply because they already had a child.

Momma to three pups:

Ein, Pembroke Welsh Corgi (black headed tri) born 7/12/2004
Tucker, golden colored lab mix, rescue - est dob fall 2004
Colleen rough collie (sable and white), rescue - est dob: 2003-2004

Authorities killed 50,000 dogs, many of them beaten to death in front of their owners.

Disappointing is not a word I would use but I cant remember enough swear words to compensate my thoughts on this matter.

I abhorr ignorance, yes, let's blame the dogs, again and again. i agree, it's not surprising, but go to the root of the cause, not a band aid
