Question Chipmunk Licenses in the US

I already know my own states laws, nothing for owning but a cheap license is required for selling bred chipmunks. Has anyone gotten a license in the US for breeding chipmunks? Or even any other animals that are similar/of a similar status in that state? I'd like to know the difficulty or how long it may take..

I needed to get a license to own or breed species native to Ohio. They do this to make sure you aren't taking animals from the wild. I just called the place, they sent me the paper work, I filled it out and gave permit numbers of the people I got my animals from and sent it back in with my $40 fee. They inspected a week later and sent me my permit about a week after that. Pretty simple.

There are no federal laws that directly govern the breeding of non-threatened, legally obtained Ground Squirrels. Each state has its own statutes regarding native species. Since we don't know where you live, you'll need to check with your state department of fish and wildlife.
