Crittercall They are beautiful, that's for sure. I don't remember knowing anyone who owns one, but I do remember Erin having nothing but negative comments about them when she worked in a pet store.

Their diet, from what I understand, is totally liquid or fruit. And they are prolific poopers. At Gatorland they have a walk-in exhibit of both birds and you are supplied with an umbrella when you go in.

Keep doing your research and good luck! I'm sure you've already realized that by having two they will bond to each other and not to you - but that depends on what kind of pet you want. I have three very young birds right now (finally weaned, thank goodness!) but being in separate cages and separate areas has kept them from bonding to each other. The Senegal is ready to come out and play as soon as the cage door is open and I have never seen a cockatiel who will sit and have his head rubbed as long as this one will.

Again, good luck. I know you will do the right thing for you.

pammiedrew I do know someone that raises Lories and she is a great breeder too. She goes to the Raleigh, NC bird fair every year. She has moved her website and I am trying to find her again. As soon as I get it I will let you know.

That are beautiful birds.

ANyone own one?

I have done tons of research along with my aunt (bird extraordinaire) and we decided that when i get out of college that a Lori/lorikeet would be the best bird for me. I would most likely gt two. They aren't as demanding as macaws and I believe you can teach them to talk? Anyway I was wondering if anyone has any of their own pictures of them and has any quirks or stories from them?

Know any breeder near the eastern coast?
