FiberMonkey Not only does the world revolve around Cairo, so does the sun, the moon, etc... Cairo is a baby Macaw, of course she is self centered. She loves it when we put her shower perch on the mirror in the bathroom. She will sit in front of the mirror and talk to herself while I'm doing the laundry. She also will stare at the ceiling if the light behind her cargo net is casting a shadow up there.
Cairo also gets a bit jealous of the cats. We were having blanket time on the floor the other night and Ainsley, my orange tabby was laying on his back in my lap. She came over to me, climbed up onto my lap and started pulling on his fur. I thought she was trying to groom him until she started knawing on his toes. The really funny thing is that Ainsley didn't even wake up. He must have been really tired.

tycor2328 Our cockatiel is obsessed with mirrors. He constantly checks himself out, and even takes his food over to a mirror to watch himself eat. Self-centered? Ding ding! His cage is currently infront of a wall of mirrors we made for him. Now we know, he'll never get bored.

Jodi Good for you Carmen!!

Toby is moody just like you and I. It's funny to watch his moods change.

We took him out yesterday to the mall. He was a complete and total goofball. Everytime he saw a little kid (he loves little kids) he would say "Hey Bird" really loudly. He let a little 7 year old girl hold him for a minute. He sat and whistled at her and made kissy noises. Toby likes girls too... he's a FLIRT! It's embarrassing sometimes when you walk by a girl and Toby whistles at 'em. You want to make sure you say to them "it wasn't me!! It was the bird!! "

Eli Any one else have a bird that will just let you pet them on their own ter ms???? If I try to pet Eli, when he doesn't want to be , I go away bleeding. Andhe loves it, because I yell, all the more he does it even more to make me yell and make noise....he doesn't think he gets enough attention

AndrueC Beekle certainly likes to look at himself in a mirror or window but he's happy to play with me as well. Sometimes I do think he just sees me as a handy mobile perch though

RSbunny Jodi I'm getting there, slowly slowly! If we have injured birds at work now (like pigeons, doves etc. that have been attacked and we need to handle them to inspect for damage, not pet birds) I will actually pick them up and put them in a cage. I would never do that before!!!!
I love hearing bird stories so keep them coming!!!!!

Millimi My parakeets aren't in love with themselves, but with their toys. At least twice a day they have to go and cuddle with their toys, it's so cute!

Jodi You mean all birds aren't self centered??

Toby thinks the world revolves around him.... I've tried to explain to him that it doesn't but... well, he doesn't believe me.
